Private tour to enjoy wine and olives, spots not listed in guidebooks

Waiheke Island, New Zealand , is a 35-minute ferry ride from Auckland, known for its beautiful beaches, lush landscapes, and world-renowned wine and olive oil. This small island is said to be home to around 30 wineries, so if you're looking for a unique experience on Waiheke Island, we recommend a private tour with Waiheke Prime Tours . With a personal guide who speaks Japanese and lives on Waiheke Island, and who loves the island, beaches, wine, and hospitality, you'll feel a connection with the locals as you fully enjoy Waiheke's charm, ensuring an unforgettable trip.

1. A Japanese guide will help you discover the charms of Waiheke Island

On the Waiheke Prime Tour , you will be guided by a Japanese guide who has lived on the island for many years. With guidance in Japanese, you will be able to tour Waiheke Island while gaining a deep understanding of New Zealand culture, history, and the background of the wineries. The guide will not only take you to famous tourist spots, but will also introduce you to hidden spots that only locals know about and share stories unique to the area.

For example, you will have the unique opportunity to hear directly from your guide about the island's history, the region's unique wine culture, and the lives of the local people.

2. Luxury experiences at wineries and olive farms

Olive Oil Tasting: Flavorful Extra Virgin Oil

Olive oil production is also thriving on Waiheke Island, and you can enjoy tasting the freshest, highest quality extra virgin olive oil at local olive farms. I always include a stop on my tours at Allpress Olive Groves, which reopened in October and is a must-see for anyone visiting Waiheke Island. The newly renovated building is beautiful, and the stylish, friendly staff will explain in detail the differences between fruity, spicy, and mellow flavors. The herb spread, made with olive oil produced here and plenty of local herbs, is absolutely delicious.

Allpress Olive Groves will open a bistro in November where you can enjoy breakfast and lunch. It's a must-visit place for anyone visiting Waiheke Island.

Wine tasting: Savor the flavors of the island

At the winery, guests can enjoy tastings of wines made with grapes grown on the island. Full-scale winemaking on Waiheke Island began in 1977. Because the island's climate is similar to that of Europe (especially France and the Mediterranean), the winemaking process is somewhat reminiscent of European styles. Sauvignon Blanc, famous in New Zealand's Marlborough region, and Pinot Noir, famous in Central Otago, are difficult to produce on Waiheke Island due to the island's warm climate. Instead, Waiheke Island produces many deep-flavored red wines, such as Syrah and Bordeaux blends. The lovely pink rosé made from these red wines is also delicious and popular, with many customers purchasing it during the summer. Chardonnay is the most commonly produced white wine, but fragrant Pinot Gris and Viognier are also available.

3. Relax at a stunning spot on Waiheke Island

Waiheke Island has many beautiful scenic spots, including the well-known tourist spot Oneroa Beach . However, in reality, many tourists don't know where to go, so they just take a quick stroll around Oneroa and then head back to Auckland.

As someone who knows the island inside and out, I can say that if you only visit Oneroa, you'll only be experiencing 10% of Waiheke Island's charm .

That's why Waiheke Prime Tour takes you to breathtaking spots carefully selected by a guide. We've devised a tour that allows even first-time visitors to fully experience the "real Waiheke Island," including secluded beaches not found on tourist maps and viewpoints offering panoramic views of the island's natural beauty.

During the tour, you can relax and enjoy the scenery while experiencing the charm of the island with your whole body.

4. Enjoy at your own pace in complete privacy

The biggest feature of Waiheke Prime Tour is that it is a completely private tour. You can enjoy sightseeing at your own pace without having to adjust to the schedule of other tour participants. You can start at any time and adjust your stay freely, so you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the island.

We can also customize the tour to suit your needs. If you like this wine, want to have lunch at this winery, try a walking course, relax on the beach, or shop at a local store, we are happy to accommodate your requests.

5. We will take you to a winery, a hidden spot that other tours don't go to.

My tours also include tours around the East Coast that can only be reached by car, which other tour companies are reluctant to do.

We offer exceptional experiences in places overlooking the natural beauty that truly make you feel like you're in New Zealand, including the Man O' War vineyard, which stretches out in front of the beautiful ocean; Gin Distillery, a truly powerful spot where you can enjoy craft gin and eye-catching cocktails while taking in the island's most spectacular views; and Jasper Ridge, where you can enjoy a nearly private wine tasting in my favorite vineyard, which I don't really want to make public. The roads around this area are unpaved, winding, and have spotty signal in places, so we don't recommend renting a car for first-time visitors. Many people who take this tour once want to return, and it's truly, truly recommended.

6. Help with choosing souvenirs at local shops and wine centers

If you're having trouble choosing a souvenir from Waiheke Island, I'll be happy to help. I also work at the Wine Centre in Oneroa, so you can leave the wine selection to me. I can suggest the perfect bottle to suit your tastes and occasions. We can also send a selection of Waiheke Island wines to Japan.

We can also take you to local shops that tourists rarely visit, so you can find special souvenirs such as Kawakawa Balm, which is only available on the island, and crafts made by artisans .

We will support you until the end of your tour to ensure you enjoy a wonderful shopping experience that is unique to Waiheke Island.
